Allyship Accountability
In 2020, M25 made a pledge, a commitment to diversity, anti-racism and allyship. Today, I am proud of our team for putting together and publishing our first ever M25 Diversity Report.
This wasn't easy.
We are by no means perfect, and still have work to do. But, this is our authentic attempt to do what we believe is necessary in holding ourselves accountable and being transparent about our processes and results.
As a purely, ROI-seeking firm with no specific mandate around diversity, I could not be more proud of the fact that nearly half of our current fund's portfolio companies have underrepresented founders at the helm, AND nearly half of the total capital M25 has deployed as a firm across all funds (including follow on and SPVs) has gone to companies with underrepresented founders as well.
Our hope is that by publishing our report about our process and KPIs around DEI, that other firms would be encouraged to take their own next step, and perhaps to do the same.

Racism did not die in 2020 , but I still believe that all of us can play our own authentic roles in bringing it to a true demise.
